Had a friend break his neck offroading, got a phone call from him a few days later when he had regained full consciousness. We were having a great conversation, it was very good to hear his voice. A few minutes into our conversation, the morphine dispenser gave him a scheduled auto dose of morphine with a loud *BEEP*, and mid sentence he lost all control of his motor functions in his facial muscles.

Friend: Yeah the nurses gave me a nice bubble bath..

    *BEEP*

they werrree sghloow hoooorhtbvwvx nnnrewasx..... mmmmmmmmmmmm

    *Happy silence*

Me: Did the morphine just kick in?!?! you okay bud???

    Friend: *Laughs uncontrollably*

    Me: I'll call back...hahahaha

Glad to see you did good buddy! Best vibes to you my friend!

    Hey guys. Thanks!

It's been 3 weeks post transplant and it's been up and down. Mostly up. The kidney has been slowly improving and docs are weaning me off the steroids now that the anti rejection meds are kicking in.

Just got cleared to drive today so going to try and take the truck to the pharmacy. Gonna keep it local as the 8 inch incision in my waist still hurts.

The worst part so far was the bladder stent removal. It's outpatient so there's only one way to stick the cytoscope in. Talk about penile invasion. I never want to go through that again.

Thank you for asking. I hadn't realized it's been so long since I updated. Well, in the past month, things have been smooth. There was a time when my anti-rejection meds stopped working so the transplant clinic had to make some adjustments to help me recover. It's climbing back up and no other signs of rejection so they feel I am back on track.

Dealing with side effects from all the meds. They are bearable though.

My latest issues are extensive bruising all over my body. I currently have a bruise on my left calf/shin area that is 7 inches long and 4 inches wide. It's painful being on my feet for extended periods of time so I kind of hobble like I took a dump in my pants. Along with my medical mask, folks stare at me pretty funky when I go to Target or the grocery store. hahahahaha.

Oh, and now I am getting sun spots all over my arms and legs so the clinic is monitoring that to make sure it doesn't develop into skin cancer.

But even with all that, I ain't trippin' cuz I am not on dialysis anymore. Whew.
