I finally have a Tacoma! Here’s my story:

Before I even had my drivers license, I wanted a Tacoma. The problem is, they held their value so well I couldn’t afford one so I opted for a decent car that had over 200,000 miles on it but lasted over 10 years. Why? Because my dad always taught me to work for what you want, save, and spend with a purpose. I graduated with my bachelors, married my high school sweetheart, and began pursuing my Master’s degree while she completed her credential program. We both graduated and started our careers. I thought, finally, I can buy a Tacoma! Nope. Our first goal/dream was to buy a home within a year and we did it! Our next goal was to pay off her car within 6 months, and as you can guess we also checked that off our list. After another year, and much saving, we began looking for a truck. As a side note, everyone in my family drives a Ford. Why? Because my father in law is a head manager at our local Ford dealership. So, the first place I went and test drove was at the Ford dealership. It was nice, but I knew what I wanted. At the Ford dealership, they had a Tacoma and as soon as I sat in it, I knew I wouldn’t settle for anything less. So, we headed to the Toyota dealership. I walked in letting them know I wouldn’t buy a truck with a payment more than I give to my church. As I mentioned before, my dad taught me to spend with a purpose and although I really REALLY wanted a Tacoma and have been waiting patiently, my priority is and always will be to the church. More importantly, God. They looked at me sideways, but told me my options. The first one I test drove, 2017 SR5 4x4 double cab, was the winner. I walked out as a proud new owner and couldn’t sleep for week due to excitement. But honestly, I can’t wait to one day pass this down to my son.
