On the plus side, we just got our new fridge Monday. It's basically empty since we gave away everything perishable that wouldn't keep in a cooler from the old one and haven't been to the grocery store to restock. At least we don't have to worry about that if we have to leave.

The downside being...we just got a new fridge if the house gets flattened.

 

You could park the OGT at the airport but I think it's something like 10$ a day. Lol

new models showing it going more east

 

They may drift around as the storm encounters land, but the east slant is a welcome sight

 

Unfortunately, the 5 pm update has them shifted slightly to the west so most of the models, including the Euro and the other reliable one have the eye going right up the east coast similar to Mathew but worse because it'll be a cat 4. Those poor folks just got hammered last year, now they are in the hot seat again. Hopefully the ones that stayed last time will clear out this time.

There's still some uncertainty, but they say by tomorrow it'll be pretty clear where it's going. I also heard if you're gonna clear out and you plan on getting a hotel, you might want to head toward Alabama because the hotels between here and Atlanta along I75 are all full. Honestly, that's a great thing. It means people are getting the heck out of Dodge which hopefully means less work for our Emergency Responders and less loss of life.

Let's just hope and pray the eye stays off the coast.

Looking at the projected track, it keeps moving west. I figure if that keeps up, by the time the storm hits, it'll be right back to where it was at the beginning of the week going right up the west coast, which will suck for the Tampa Bay area, but at least the east coast will catch a break. If it goes the way it's supposed to go atm, I wanna wish good luck to @Timbo89 , @The End , and @allenfab along with anyone else that will be close to the eye. And good luck to our South Florida folks. If you guys haven't gotten out, God be with ya. If you have, hopefully your home isn't hit too hard.

We're as ready at the Casa de Baka as we're gonna get. Everything is buttoned up and tied down. Unfortunately, some boneheads down the street trimmed their trees, presumably to prevent them breaking off or damaging the house and left the rest of neighborhood a nice big pile of projectiles laying out by the street.

Damn, it's bigger than the state of Florida......and gonna hit right in the middle as a cat 5. I think Alabama and Georgia property values are about skyrocket as they become waterfront property

 

Maybe the track will keep shifting west until it misses us? Not good for the Pan Handle/AL, MS, or LA though.

Having said that, I mentioned being unusually concerned about Irma back at the beginning of the week. Guess my gut was telling me something. Tampa hasn't had a direct hit by a Hurricane since something like 1946. I guess we're due and our luck might have run out. We're on the hot seat now. Just happy for the East Coast that they may be catching a bit of a break on this one--hopefully it remains that way.

On a different note, looks like Key West is going to get mowed down regardless. It begs the question: where the heck is @Trident904 going to go to get dates now?

The bright side: if we all survive this, Citrus is gonna be a beautiful, hopefully challenging, mess and they won't have much time to screw it up by "fixing" it before the Camp & Ride.

 

I'm more worried about my grandparents and dad who are riding it out at a hotel in key west. It is a big hotel but shit! If it hits as a cat 5 or 4

 

Holy shit! Yer kidding, right? Why would they do that?!? That's effin' crazy! Did they not see what this thing did to Barbuda and all those other bitty little Caribbean islands? I feel for you, Brah. I hope they come through it and the aftermath okay.
