    So... in my part of SC- we are having "near" record low overnight temps. 53 degrees last night; again tonight. If this stays- it is NOT going to mix well with Irma associated winds. News is not talking about it yet... hopefully this cold air will go away before outer bands of Irma get here.

    Our local stores are out of water here too.

    Yup. perfect mix for tornado. We had a tornado warning just last week when we got hit with the severe thunderstorm; lost power briefly. few trees fell here. that was only a severe (very severe) storm cell.

    I'd rather it be cold.. There are ways to stay warm without power. In the heat you can't take enough clothes off, especially in public. Also food and drugs need to be kept cold.

    My folks were visiting family in VA and Mooresville and drove home yesterday. They said traffic was gridlocked from the SC/GA border south to Daytona. They also said they stopped along the way and there was no batteries, bread, or water available the whole way down. Looks like I'll be grabbing some batteries this afternoon...
