Be careful not to bend or break them if you're not positive they won't go back on. I took mine off to paint and suggest using fishing line with goo gone sprayed all over the top so it follows the line in.

 

^this. I used fishing line to remove mine, don't try to pry them or turn them. They could break or even scratch paint

 

Thanks for the advise! I think I've seen enough de-badged trucks on here to be sure that I won't put them back on. But either way I think you're right and I should try to keep them intact.

I did it in direct high altitude sunlight, used a hair dryer, goo gone and fishing line and I still saw them wiggle a bit. I also foolishly used double sided tape to re-adhere rather than emblem adhesive. It looks fine and is strong as hell but damn was it time consuming to trim all that.

 

Shopping list for this weekend:

- Goo Gone
- Microfiber towels
- Beer

I'll also be running some 0 gauge cable for my aux battery so it should be a fun weekend!

 

Looks great!! I did this yesterday! I was not sure if I was going to keep or completely de-badge, ended up making it clean

Process was much better than I had anticipated. Was using dental floss to start and quickly searched for fishing line and made life much better.

picked away the residue with fingers, goof-off, and cleaned it.

What year is your truck? You have any issue with paint fading around the emblem but not under it? I want to debadge my 07 but really dont want to deal with having faded "TOYOTA" text ingrained in my paint when I take them off.

 

I have ghosting on my 10 year old radiant red if i peel my pinstripes, but lots of people who replied say lighter colors and a little polish come out OK.

 

Like highriser said, lighter colors tend to be more forgiving. Before waxing mine you could see the outline on the doors, but a little elbow grease and wax took it out. Worst case I'm sure a high speed buff would take care of any remnants.

 

Mine is 2012, no fading at all either. I believe it just depends how well the truck is kept and the climate/sun exposure. You can always take it off and see how it looks, worst case scenario you just use some adhesive and reattach.

 

So,
Tracy at Allpro fixed the problem by express shipping me the correct springs.
She also arranged for pickup and return of the wrong ones.
She also included a U bolt flip at no charge to compensate me for the extra work.
The install took 1.5 hours, much better than the 5 hours !
The springs gave me 1" extra lift over my stock springs w AAL.
I'm excited to see how the ride is.

Well not all today but over the last couple I got to install the lift. 5100's with eibach coils and top plate spacers for n front along with Camberg uca's and superbumps



Wheeler's 3 leaf aal retaining the over load springs and a 5mm drivers side shim, Bilstein 5125's, and All pro ubolt flip with super bumps.


While I was under there I went ahead and did the rear diff breather relocate, OME CB drop, and chopped off the tail pipe





That was fun I just took my time and enjoyed myself
