image.jpg Got a good start on a topper lift for my 05 Tacoma. I used 4 16" linear actuators that I got from windy nation. They are suppose to be good for 225 lbs lift each, and only draw 2.5 amps per actuator . So far only have about $250 in parts.

Cool! Are you going to fill in the gap with canvas or something for camping?

Now that is super fucking cool. If you had a canvas on the side, it'd be like a hardshell RTT on steroids.

Just very surprised I've read many a build seen many a truck and never have I seen anything like this. I've contemplated something of the sort myself but never followed suit. Most people spring for a RTT. This seems like a more streamlined and quick to put up/take down option.

Props to OP @57Pan for building his own! :D

Huh, right on. Still seems like their marketing department needs to put it in gear and get the word out.

Do they make mini and mid setups (their mobile site wasn't the best) seems like they only show the big dogs.

I do plan on some sort of rain fly for the sides after I perfect the lift.Works okay now but needs additional bracing. And I'm sure I'll still want some clamps to hold it down when not in use. I know it wouldn't be quite as sturdy as the ARE EZ Lift but for what I'll have into it that is okay.
The idea for the rain fly is either Velcro or snaps on the canopy and magnets at the bottom to stick to the outside of the truck so rain will run off.

It'll be a while before I get a tent skirt made up, but I have the lift done. I added a blue sea fuse block to feed power to the linear actuators.Installed the switch in the tailgate pillar and all wiring is done in the behind the driver side tail light. Included are couple of pictures to show the brackets I used.image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg
