Oh I simply used that to to say we are raising a generation of "run from anything that has a slight chance of causing issues" group of people. It's called a "joke" lol

 

So what is more in line with that claim?

"Let's cancel schools so that we aren't liable for people's children being harmed by the side effects of inclement weather?"

Society has become so sue happy that I believe school systems take that into account. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't decision. A bus wrecks killing children people will scream why the hell didn't they cancel schools. They cancel schools, people question why the hell they cancelled schools. Officials can't win but little Jimmy will be safe at home even though his parents are pissed that it complicated their day.

Definitely. A lawyer would be called the second a bus wrecks in a county that was under a tropical storm warning. Even if the county wasn't under the warning, somebody would sue and they would win.

 

Even ignoring how the legal system has bent over backwards to people who are taking advantage of pursuing wrong doing and at-fault issues, is it not fair to say that in parallel people have become more aware of dangers and have figured out ways to deal with trying to avoid them? Society progresses. That commercial about the kids in the classroom and the answer to 2+2 being "multi-culturalism" is fear mongering. Being overly cautious within a threshold does exponentially less damage or inconvenience than shrugging something off because "we've always done it this way".

I agree with you, but tonight isn't even a legitimate concern. North Alabama won't even receive tropical storm anything, it's all been downgraded. The weather stations aren't perfect, I know, but they usually aren't far off.
