2 inch lift custom grill 17x9 rims 285/70/17 tires debadged
Hey guys I did alot of reading on Tacomaworld before getting my wheels and tires, but u didn't get any concrete information on tires size for a 2 inch lift most people said you would rub a ton with 285/70/17s others said they wouldn't. So I just wanted to show some pics of them mounted and confirm that 285/70/17 fit on a 17/9 rim with 4.75 backspacing without any issues. I don't even have rubbing. I only took off the airdam that comes on the trd sport.20170901_124148.jpg 20170907_133616.jpg

From the pics posted most likely especially more on a trail when your flexing or articulating at weird angles. Hell, with 275/70/17s on my OME lift I was rubbing on pavement at full lock in reverse. I had to trim some plastic off the fender

I've been driving with them for about 2 weeks and have had no rubbing. I also went on a small Trail and had no issues there

Haven't done any extreme off-roading yet tho

3gen must be coated with unicorn dust because my 2gen rubbed like a bastard with smaller tires and less offset. :bananadead:

I prefer to turn my tires while off-road so that might be the difference :notsure:

I'm guessing these won't fit on stock 17/7.5 wheels?

I'm pretty uninformed when it comes to tire sizes, and I'm having a hard time figuring out what I can mount. Whats the biggest size tire I can mount on my stock rims, if I plan on lifting the truck to accommodate them.

Plenty of people run that size tire on a 7.5 wide wheel. You'll be fine.

Stock control arms and no spacers, yes. The tires will fit on the wheels though.

I never rubbed at full lock like many people. I'd always rub at like half lock in reverse on the innermost piece of painted plastic. I think it's part of the fender flair. I'd post a pic but I still haven't learned how after almost 10 years on here :p

Will 285/70/17's w/ 17/9 tire rub on my 2014 taco?. It has a 3" front strut spacer and 2" rear block. If so what will I need to do to resolve the rubbing?
