PreRunner so, e-locker so, rear spool so, just about as capable as any open open 4x4? Plus when it DOES rain in a desert, it tends to pour and flash flood. So what's wrong with a snorkle? :D

Do what you want man, let the haters be :jellydance:

Plus if anyone ever gives you a hard time about it tell them it's ram air for more MPGs!

Why would you keep a non functioning CAI when adding a real CAI? Makes no sense to me.

Or just don't use anything. I ran mine for almost 4 years with nothing after the bolts ripped out the a pillar.

That sounds like a good alternative too! What happened that caused yours to get ripped out? Wheeling of some sort I presume?

For the prerunner, there's the cowl/hood snorkel option. It's on here. Search.

I drilled 6 holes into my roof already to attach my light bar mounts, covered the holes with Toyota black water pump FIPG installed nut-certs and sinched them down, then liberally filled the certs with the FIPG and covered the foot of the mounts smashed them down, covered the holes in the feet, then coated the screws and installed loosely, attached my light bar and waited approx 45min for the FIPG to set, screwed everything down tight and let it cure for 24hrs.

To date I have had no water intrusion and I have presure washed my truck several times and been through many a downpour.

Whenever I do get a snorkle I'm going to mount it in the same manner. I like the idea of 3M auto adhesive tape, and it's proven to be plenty strong for me in the past, but, I still I think I'd rather have a solid attachment to my truck when it comes to something as expensive as an ARB snorkle, I would hate for a tree to walk away with it on a trail.

This. I'll be doing 3M tape for this reason as well. Also a couple of people have reported A-pillar rusting and or water in the cab after snorkel installs that were sub par (not enough silicone pumped into the rivet holes)
