That sounds even more free... what about shipping charge?

    Going to the dealership?

    ...ew!

So a quick question: On @David K 's mod, he used 3/8" hose. On this tutorial, it specs 1/4".
Now I'm not engineerist but 3/8" is a bit bigger than 1/4" based on maths. Any practical reason for the difference or is it just personal preference?

Personally with stuff like that I don't mind paying the cost of shipping to order from my desk and have it delivered vs. running around town doing errands.

The cost per plug on Toyotaparts.com for OEM part # 90919-01235 $2.86. Yeah I would pay a bit more per plug with shipping but the convenience is the benefit. I don't like going to the dealership for any reason if I can avoid it.

On another note, just ordered the breather and union for combined total after shipping of $15.37.
Thanks @VA SOFTACO for the link to Totyotaparts.com! Amazon was a rip off and I'm glad I didn't buy through them.

How come everytime I try to pull up toyotalparts.com, it redirects me to autopartswarehouse.com?

And when I look for the parts there, they don't exist

Ah, because the URL is wonky:

    https://www.toyotaparts.metro-toyota.com/

    Try this one.

Here is my thread for the mod: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/my-differential-breather-mod-photos.111954/

1/4" would not ever fit over the barb breather or union fitting, without ridiculous stretching. the hose I used worked perfectly, and I am in the tube and hose business (drip irrigation systems). Maybe you read about the rear locker breather tube, which I think is 1/4"?

FYI: I did not include the rear locker as the breather for it is already up higher than the top of the diff somewhere. The axles being dipped in water can happen a lot but dunking my truck to the level of the bed is way unlikely... also, I can live without a rear locker (I have A-TRAC), but I cannot live without a rear differential (for long)!

I dunno. I'm going to wait to buy some hose until the other parts show up. Probably go to AutoZone and size the tubing/hose there.

Woohoo!! Finally did this! Ran the line to the back of the taillight since I didn’t feel like drilling into my truck.
