"sometimes they're to sell out of the country"

No kidding, I am in So Cal and I see lots of older Tacos towing Tacos heading east on I-10 towards Yuma and the border- most of them are going to South America. Used Toyotas are a big resale item in Mexico. Knowing how popular, how costly parts are, and how well they hold their value, they are a great target for thieves.

Huh that is interesting. I have seen that before in Montana. A convoy of old tacos pulling old tacos. Strange but cool sight.

We live on family land, outside of town, and the only close neighbors are relatives. I can leave my truck running all night with the doors unlocked and the only threat is I'll have less gas than when I went to bed. That said, when the house was built I made sure the garage could house lifted trucks of decent length, so I park the taco inside. Mostly because the Texas sun can be brutal. However, I do have to park at the fire station in the city. Most have secured lots but not all. In those cases I just lock it up and hope for the best. s.

Get an exhaust cut out installed off the manifold so if they start it at night the whole neighborhood wakes up.

My brother in law had an older Honda model with a fast turbo charged engine. He would always walk around with his steering wheel and car computer module in a back pack. Car never got stolen.

Make sure your truck is adequately insured and you don't leave anything in your truck that would be a devestating loss for you.

I always leave my wallet in my truck (shhh dont tell anyone)

But thats not a devestating loss. Just cancel my credit card and the next Saturday pick up a new drivers license.

Now the loss of my Starbucks gift cards might make me cry but I'd get over it.

I had my wallet stolen from me at the gym once and I had to fight city hall for weeks just to get back my driver's license.

NO, my brother beat the crap out of a guy that was trying to take his car.

next day a stolen car from down the street with a brick on the gas pedal rammed several vehicles at my parents and was aimed at the house. lucky for us it did not go straight and hit the camper bumper and bounced off my 88 toy 4x4 and my brothers nova rear quarter.

a normal person wouldn't have such a huge problem but I have a issue with my name on my driver's license and the name on my birth certificate not matching... its a really long ass story that dates back to my early childhood.
