What do you know about this new charge the Corporation Commission O.K.d for them letting them charge solar users a "fee" for using the grid? Does it pretty much wipe out what you make selling your excess to them or what?

Ya, but dude, AC cost a lot of money when the temp outside is 312 degrees.
In all seriousness he's probably looking at a 300+dollar electric bill in the summer without the solar.

We've been up and running since yesterday. My work location is still without power, but we can get ice at a nearby park. There's 500+ Extra Utility Rigs working on the power outages in my county alone. They've come from all over this great country. Can't thank them enough. They said everyone will be 100% up and running by Friday. These crews have been breaking there ass down here in this heat. We have a lot old Oak trees that are uprooted or have completely snapped, along with all the hard woods and Palms.

We had a major failure at work about 3am yesterday. We have these L shaped rotary arms that raise the empty spools back to the top of the machine to go back through. The spools are what we wind the paper on and they weigh about 7500# each. Well one of the arms broke off of the machine when it was at the top and a spool still in it. It broke some stuff we don't keep spares for so the the machine was still down when I came home at 6 pm. Poor mechanics were worn out. Some had left while stuff was getting fabbed and came back when parts started coming in.

We have natural gas but it's for the water heater (on demand) and range. Whats expensive here is water.

I've only heard about, haven't looked into it. But I did hear something about it being for new installs after the effective date or something along those lines. I guess, while saving energy it does cut into their profits. Being it is a publicly traded company and they do have a board to answer to, they still have to make a profit somehow. But APS started it by having the program for solar waterheaters. So they kinda shot themselves in the ass with that one.

Ac stays set at 75 year round...the house is a little under 2000 sq ft.

Some people I work with talk about $350-$450/mo.

That sounds expensive and a little spooky.
