before I chime in I went and did a little research and learned something... according to the manual, the SRS/Sir bag system has a back up power supply, where it is is not disclosed. I am thinking a capacitor somewhere. The manual states that it takes 90 seconds for this power supply to deplete so any messing around with 90 seconds of disconnecting the battery and you can discharge an air bag.

I read a story about a guy trying to get the steering wheel nut off of his tuner honda and he hit the nut with a chisle and hammer and the air bag deployed killing him.

    Thanks,

I followed the manual last night and went through the entire sequence of steps for the code (52). Apparently it was a malfunctioning passenger side airbag and tested out normal after the diagnostics were complete.

I cleared the codes per the manual after I put everything back together and the code did not come back. NO MORE LIGHT...

    I think I lucked out.

No worries and thanks for the heads up about the 90 seconds. I figured it might be something like that when they refer to it in the service manual. I have heard horror stories of people setting off airbags during diagnosis but following the steps to the letter included unplugging everything in the system to protect just in case.
