i know this is an old post, but how sturdy is the seat bolt mount. I have one from Lido mounts, and its not that great.

I still have yet to have any problems with mine and continue to recommend this mod for anyone that wants an inexpensive way to keep a tablet accessible for off-road navigations assistance. My wife likes it as she can easily rotate the mount to face her so she can read ebooks on long interstate sections.

I'm not familiar with the Lido mount so I can't compare but as I stated above, no problems for me to date.

its a more plastic version of this. the arm itself is well made, as well as the portion that mounts the arm to the seat bolt, but the ball is pure plastic.

Yikes, I'm with you thinking that the plastic is not an ideal solution.

not at all. the new galaxy tab s3 i picked up today is pretty light, but even on an access road, it moved at the ball joint. heavily debating the

This is my setup. Tech Deck with a tablet mount, phone mount, etc. doesn't move off road. Haven't had it at speed off road, because I drive slow

already have one. got my ham controls and mics mounted to it. blocks the head unit, but its the stock touch screen so its pretty worthless, hence why i want to mount the tablet.

I want to see that setup. People that ride in my truck say that i have too many screens, and I only have 3 when everything is mounted

Tuned! Any news? I'm very interested in this mod, but if you have any enhancements I'd like to see that before I buy anything.

Looks great! To keep mine charged I snaked a long cable down the inside of the aluminum bar sheath and into a hard wired USB port hidden beneath the dash.

The next step will be in dash using one of the extremely rare kits that Shane made. The pedestal may stay as my wife wants to try her MacBook on it to see how well it would work. If we like the idea but the pedestal won't work I'll look into a proper laptop mounting system.

Yeah still have to do the cord. I took the pics kinda as a final mock up so to speak. I figure if I'm by myself I can use it for maps and if the wife is with me she can turn it to watch movies on road trips. Still would like to see how it turns whenever you do it.

Speaking for myself, it's not bad at all because I have the aluminum bar bent so that it is held by the seat against the center console. I don't use it on paved roads but my wife will sit back and watch movies on it during long trips and she's never complained. I've even used it as an arm rest from time to time.
