Had a coworker put one of those on my 1/2 drive snap on impact. Never seen a socket become so many pieces.

so when I got the car, 2 days later check engine light came on. it was the knock sensor, I've never heard of one. guy at auto store says it doesn't really need replaced, to run a good tank of gas through the car and reset the light it'll be fine. so I did that, CEL went away and didn't come back. good to go. car starts sorta missing on acceleration, kinda like a skip. spark plugs right? so we replace those and the wires, but don't get the wires seated right for the test drive blah blah blah. car goes into "default/limp mode" because one of the wires had come off and it thinks its only firing on 3 cylinders.

take to mechanic...he gets new plug wires, seats the plugs and wires again and resets the car....CEL triggers and says knock sensor.

turns out THE MF'ING KNOCK SENSOR ADJUSTS YOUR TIMING AS YOU ACCELERATE IF YOU DON'T HAVE A DISTRIBUTOR. so.....knock sensor replaced, car runs great.

moral of the story: AUTOZONE DUMBASS IS A DUMBASS THAT DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING BECAUSE HE'S A DUMBASS, STUPID DUMBASS.

    ok, sorry. that's it.

no, I knew it. the reason he got me was because as soon as it popped up on the screen he goes "oh heck it's just a knock sensor, does it have bad fuel?" oh idk I just bought it "oh ok well get good fuel run through it and reset your CEL and it'll be good". not knowing what a knock sensor is, ok sure lets try his idea....it "worked" because the CEL went away and didn't come back, and bad spark plugs don't trigger a CEL so that's why I completely disregarded the knock sensor.
