    I just traded in my '12 Access cab for a '15 DC, I had built a platrom so the dogs had the hole back of the old truck. Thinking about making one of these for the DC.

    For those asking about the hammocks, I know my dogs hate them. They are too unstable and it freaks them out.

    I use a "hammock "seat cover from Duluth Trading Co.
    It's held up well for several years now, my last dog , Jake (I still miss you terribly boy) was a 65lb lab and many times he and my girlfriends dog (85lb shepherd mix) were back there together without any problems.
    New dog Woody, does great with it

    I have been searching for a better way to make the back seat comfortable/practical for carrying my dog and came across this thread the other day. Thanks OP and others for all the great details and pics. I made my own yesterday out of materials I had around the house. I made it for only the 60 side since the 40 seat I usually keep up for one of my kids. I used thicker carpet and 1/2 inch plywood. Changed the dimensions slightly: 31"x24" for the bottom and 31"x18" for the top. It worked great, fit nice and snug. My dog likes the new ride much better!

    Curious as to why you needed to make a new one. Should’ve fit the same on the 3rs gen? Also do you have measurements for marking and cutting the metal lace holes?

    Didn't know I needed to do this until I saw the post. I thought I was just destined to always clean up dog hair. My dog doesn't like the unsteadiness of being on a hammock, so usually she just sits on the seat. A great post OP!!
