I've always liked the Firestone Destination A/T tire and now my local tire shop has a great deal going on the tire (buy 3 get 1 free at $164 each, + additional $20 off) but the deal is only for the limited edition U of A tire. So basically the U of A edition has raised white lettering on the sidewall that says "University of Alabama" and then "Crimson Tide." Now I have some die hard Alabama friends who might beam with pride having these things on their rig, but personally I can't bring myself to roll on these things if that RWL is going to be greeting me everytime I look at my truck.

I'm wondering, has anyone else seen these limited edition tires in person or does anyone own a set, and, if so, can you confirm whether both sides of the tire have the same RWL?:notsure: I may just have to stop by the LTS to see them in person, because I can just imagine a UofA fan telling me "It's only on one side" because they want UofA on display, when in fact its on both.

I may bite on this deal if I can install the tires with the  RWL facing inward on all wheels.

My follow up question is does anyone know a good method for removing the white paint from RWL? :D

In case anyone is curious, the size I'm interested in is 265/70r17.

I'm curious why you want to get rid of yours? Anything bad about their design (I mean apart from the UofA edition)?

Are your tires "E" rated with a max 65 or 80 psi?

Oh, okay. That's not the higher load rating then. Was hoping the stiff ride was only because of a higher load rating. I appreciate your feedback. Mine will be going on a DD too, so that's something I need to consider.
