    ive also heard if you get in a wreck insurance could not cover it, if the bypass is done. i dont know for sure just what i heard.

    If they could prove you had a DVD playing, and that was part of the cause, I wouldn't be surprised if you were found to have some fault.

    The problem with doing the bypass, as I see it, is that this is for more than watching a DVD while driving, yet some may do this because they can. I am getting the AVIC110BT, and will be performing the bypass as soon as I get it. Not for watching DVDs, but for the functionality of the navigation you get by doing this. Without the bypass, there is a lot you can't do in the navigation menus unless you are stopped with the parking break applied. Doing the bypass gives me the functions everyone else with a portable navigation unit has, so I don't really understand whit it is like that anyway. But, by doing the bypass, it will allow me to watch a DVD while driving, which is kinda crazy if you ask me.
