Your build is exactly what I want to do. Aside from all the other modes you did, how much money would you say you have in the LT?

@Dalandser - yea, my wife wouldn't appreciate that. Lol! She is onboard for letting me spend the money, but I have to have it.

I typically don't like to get things unless I have the money for it.

Right on. I get the idea - I'm single but gotta manage things too lol. Best bet is look for used stuff that barely got any use. I just found some 16" double bypass king's on Facebook for $600. You can save $500 here, $1k there by doing that and going slowly - fiberglass and fab companies have big sales so you can cash in on those too. Black Friday, Labor Day, 4th of July etc. will save you some money too if you buy new. Also putting the projected timeframe a couple / few years out. At least that's my take. lol.

You arnt kidding man, caused me to get burritos yesterday!

On a serious note @TacosNBurritos are you looking to do full LT like 3.5 front and SUA 16s rear? If so...plan about 15k. If you are doing the overlander mid travel kit with 2 front and soa then you can expect about half of that.

So I bought the front Total Chaos +3.5 kit for $2,000 used. Plus ~$340 for new bushings, uniballs and coilover rebuild. Sold stock UCA, LCA, Coilovers for ~$500
Fiberglass front fenders bought for $350 new, but got a discount. Sold stock bumper, font fenders with flares for $350.
Rear fiberglass bedsides was $500 new, but got a discount. Sold stock bedsides with flares for $475.
Rear King remote reservoir 16" smoothie was $500. Re-valve was ~$100 for shims stacks and labor from a local TW member.
Bumper was about $160 made by me.
Bedcage was probably around the same.
DMZ SUA(not installed) I got it for $1,700 (They were pretty new company when I got this deal. They won't go that low for their kit any more) leafs, hangers, bushings, shackle, u-bolts, u-bolt plate, longer brake lines, hardware, everything minus spring perches which were ~$50 maybe.
I need a slip yolk too. Went to a shop and they said ~$500
2.0 Hydro bumps ~$600 (Not installed) I have wheelers super bumps in there now until I get all my long travel stuff installed.
East Coast Gear Supply 4.56 3rd member $665.
Wheels and tires ~$2,000. Sold old 315/75/16 tires for $300 and gave my girlfriend my old 16" methods.

    Total ~$9,500
    Selling stock parts ~$1,600

Honestly $9,500 is a lot, but it would be way higher without buying used stuff used and emailing/calling the company asking for deals lol. Also that price isn't including buying a welder and a whole lot of tools. I used to use my grandpas tools he was a mechanic, but he just throws everything into the drawers drove me absolutely insane. So I bought my own and organized it from smallest to biggest, metric and standard, ect. Taught myself how to weld and actually am now one of the welders at my work! I work on 100ft boats usually as a captian or deckhand, but they put me on maintenance once a week or when it's slow they toss me more days on maintenance it's a never ending battle against rust.

I think that's everything. Never really added everything up before. :frusty: I'm kinda depressed now lmao.

Not really. The boats that take campers to Catalina. Usually out of Long Beach by the Queen Marry sometimes out of rainbow harbor and terminal island.

Sounds like a sweet job! How much does it cost and what's the name of the company in case someone I know is thinking of going out there?

Bingo, rear first, then front. You can live with a good mid travel on the front, getting the rear done first is a lot better in the long run.

Truth. Also by getting the rear done, you are getting the hard part knocked out first.

Catalina Classic Cruises. I'm not sure if we do like public sales. It's mostly groups going to camp or private charters.

Yeah the rear is better to do first. I had everything all planned on what I wanted to do. Then that used LT kit came up and welp here we are. I'd say my rear is a solid mid travel it's a bastard pack using a few stock leafs and random 4-5 other leafs with a 16" shock and I get 17"+ from the shock angle of travel and have the shock are valved for the leaf springs.

The beginning is me trying to see how well my setup worked in the whoops. They were about 1'-2' whoops going about 30mph. The 2nd part is a little course my friends and I ran for fun, but they had stock trucks with 5100s on so it was relatively mellow.

Oh yeah I'm running stock spindles too...:crapstorm: Can't decide if I want to run stock gusset spindles or the total chaos spindle($1,500). I want to see how my truck sits with the DMZ rear before I make my decision though.

Yea, I keep going back and forth between the Total Chaos +2 or +3.5. I will likely go big, 3.5.

That's cool that you work ona boat. I use to. I was a licensed engineer on Container ships sailing the open seas. I went to the California Maritime Academy. I'm now a Project Manager that manages new construction projects for my company.

    Been all over this world.....
