Probably gonna get flak for this but youve been waiting a hot minute.

He used these... attached to some metal then welded the rod holders to the metal.

I only know he used them because he pointed me to them when I attached my LED cubes to the bed rack

Awesome, thank you. It looks like those may work w/ the plastic holders from west marine too.

Sorry bout that! Yupp Hunter is right with the link. Just make sure the inside diameter is the correct size for your needs. And yea I used an aluminum plate and tigged the tubing to it than bolted it to the bull bar brackets.

How is it camping in the snow like that? How do you manage to stay warm overnight with such crazy snow?

Camping in the snow is wild! It's an added element to the norm.. Def would rather camp in the snow than the rain. I have a 0* rated queen size sleeping bag for winter camping. I crawl in that thing like a cacoon and sleep like a baby. There are some condensation issues from breathing but nothing major, just a couple damp spots. I've run a Mr Buddy heater in the annex while awake but when I sleep I shut the heater off. For me it's a self fulfilling personal challenge camping in the elements.

This wasn’t only a special trip for us as a growing family but it was also a return trip to the spot I stayed a year earlier solo in a snow storm..

It’s cool to see things from my last trip that are totally different this trip!

This was a spot on the way to the national forest I previously watched a car race on a frozen lake, everything was so familiar pulling up except I could pull on the lake this time..

Had an idea for over a year now and material for bout a year. With some free time, decided it was time to get it done. Wanted to turn the tailgate into a more suitable camp table. With a sheet of 1/8 aluminum and a jig saw I made my own tailgate skin table top.

Congrats on the up coming car seat mod. It's such a surreal experience at times(probably due to sleep deprivation). It's also about the coolest thing I've ever been a part of.

Totally jumping on this idea, solid work. Any strength issues standing on it?
I'm set up basically like you and need a smooth surface to work off of....
