Just a friendly reminder my fellow Texans..

I just got a hopper flip that I've never thought I'd buy because of the price. But this is a great cause and a great gesture that not a lot of other companies are doing. Donating to the other charities is always great, but you won't get a nice cooler in return! It's all going to the same effort to help our fellow Texans!

A lot of that happened up here. There was a place by my office that had 2.99 the Friday after the "panic". Then there was one in Richardson I saw that had 4.39. But it was already closed off and out of gas. Pretty despicable.

That's capitalism, not price gouging, it's like totally different.

Those prices ar published far in advance and based on event demand. Suddenly raising prices above what's published to take advantage of disaster demand is greedy douchebaggery.

Yes, totally agree. I'm just cheap but do like the beer and wine offerings of the area. So I drive out to Kerrville during the event.

I literally just went through all of this with the them (Southlake). They also make it especially difficult to get the study results without a lawyer (even though it's public record). There are dozens of ways around it, including the fact that they're unconstitutional by assumption of guilt.

I used to watch cars get rear-ended almost weekly at an intersection by my house years ago because of the risk of a red light ticket. Several of those cars were pushed out into the intersection as a result of inertia, causing larger pile ups from cross traffic. When I asked the Southlake peace officer about the safety of me/my passengers/the other drivers as a result of slamming on my brakes, he shrugged and said, "That would be unfortunate, but the law is the law." You could clearly see the Mercedes hella riding my ass in the photos they got!

I took that as a promotion of reckless endangerment. Obey the "law" and possibly fatally injure or kill someone, or pay an illegal fine to the city in order to increase my chances of safety.

I get really fired up about this, but I'll end it here.:anonymous:

It's never been about safety, it's a money grab for the city.

I understand that, I'd just rather them admit it than advertise it as a way to make commuting safer.

I'd rather they go away altogether. I've seen some articles about some state govvie types discussing it, but so far it's stuck at news outlets making noise.

Might be going down this weekend to help with cleanup efforts in Houston. Peeps from Houston how are the resources out there? Should I bring my own water and food?

Hey Kevin @Kolunatic . Not the same Axis that roam through your back yard but still a fine Texas product.
