So I'm a paint Noobie and I royally screwed up spray painting the interior dash trim. Dropped the left side trim and grabbed it with my glove while it was still wet. (Pics attached so you can feel my pain)

Now I'm looking to just remove the paint and start from scratch. What would be the best way to remove a primer+spray paint from the interior dash plastic?

I tried using #3 steel wool after the picture was taken but it's really tough to get off. Any advice for me? The help is certainly appreciated.

If it's any consolation the right side trim came out great and really changes the truck interior.

I've used Citristrip to remove paint from plastic gun stocks; they weren't primered though.

You don't need to take it all off. Wait for it to cure and wet sand smooth again before respraying.

pretty rough surface. you're not gonna like this but you gotta sand it down smooth, not just wet sand. start at like 200 grit and work your way up to 1000 grit, reprime and repaint.

This, or wrap it in vinyl or something.

Vinyl wrapping was certainly the backup. Thanks everyone. I'll pick up some sand paper and steel wool and start sanding away. Thanks everyone.
