Yeah, this... I used a Dorman stud when I broke one on the front of my truck.... I couldn't pull it through, I ended up pulling the hub/bearing assembly off and beating the stud in with a punch and hammer on the bench. The Toyota studs are a little higher, but if they go in as easy as they knock out, they'll be worth it. My local dealer has them for $3.33 each. IMG_5775.jpgIMG_5776.jpg

Toyota wheel studs are only $3-4... I always like to have a few spare lug nuts too.

Yea I probably wouldn't have had all of the tools if it weren't for others things I have heard/seen other people go through...

Couple things I luckily had that made this job a breeze:

    Small hand seldge
Towel to lay down on (could care less about getting dirty at this point more of a comfortability thing)
    Few small wood blocks
    Li-Ion impact driver
Full assortment of sockets and wrenches
    LED headlamp

I will be looking into getting another jack for sure, Im thinking maybe one of those aluminum rapid pump ones.

Only one thing to do. Do the humane thing. Your horse broke its leg stepping into a gopher hole. Remove the saddle etc and put a bullet in her.

Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
Just now read through the whole thread......excellent!....just excellent handling on fixing your situation and getting you back on the road.

Believe me I know what that's like.

Dealing with a basic "flat-tire" problem is one thing (and basically nothing) but taking it further with broken studs and all, well with your quick thinking (as well as support like this forum TW from members) and using what tools you do have available to get you through it all, you turned a bad-negative situation into positive results. :burnrubber:

Starting to make me think about carrying more "specific" types of tools in my Tacoma because as you have just demonstrated you just never know what type of situation you may encounter with your vehicle.

Good to know everything worked out fine along with nobody getting hurt. :amen:

P.S. by the way what type of jack exactly is this that you mentioned?

"I'm thinking maybe one of those aluminum rapid pump ones".....would it be small-compact enough to keep in your Tacoma's cab?....or is it just a basic floor jack that you would need to keep in the back bed of your truck?

I have two of these small compact basic one's from Craftman. Bought one and another was just given to me. I could carry in the back bed of my truck when traveling.

So OEM for replacements is a good choice?

Sounds like people have had bad experiences with Dorman, so OEM it is.

Those craftsman ones look nice and compact, I was thinking maybe something like this:

    https://www.amazon.com/Powerzone-38...505755395&sr=8-3&keywords=aluminum+floor+jack

And possibly mounting it somewhere on frame rails by spare tire. Not sure yet will have to do more research but definitely want another jack, seems when situations like this occur the more jacks you have the better off you are.
