This is the local mall not too far from me. One of the biggest shopping centers around. The thing has to be toasted. There is a movie theater in back that was underwater as well. Fairly new too. I feel so bad for these people. One of the areas hardest hit was West Warwick which is pretty much built around the Pawtuxet River. (which crested at 20.7 feet, 9 feet is flood level) is one of the poorest areas in the state. And the taxes are through the roof there. They are all done. Scores of buisness will have to be condemmed as well as neighborhoods. Not just 1, multiple.

I have seen alot of pictures of some epic floods. Never have I seen flooding like this in person. I think they are saying like 200 years or so.

We had some monster rains a few weeks back. Some of the people hardest hit last time got slammed again. Some didn't even have power back on. Some just installed brand new furnaces. All gone. I think I would burn my house down.

One poor bastard had the restoration people pull the fans, dehumidifiers etc out on Monday only to have the WHOLE basement fill up again on Tuesday.

I was one of the lucky few who stayed dry. But we should offer some prayers to those poor people who got slammed. I know I am.

Wow, it's going to take a long time to get back to normal. The mall might be history. I remember when they built it. It was the first big mall around. Sad.

There were 2 security guards on the 2cnd floor. They had to take the boat inside the mall to rescue them. Inside the mall! That is nuts. I think the thing is all done as well. Plus there are the apartments behind the mall. The bottom floors have got be swimming pools.

yeah this is a damn lot of water weve been having. ive been working for my friend pumping people out best we can (he owns a plumbing company with the huge VACTA truck that will empty a basement in 15 min)

at one house i was trying to locate the sump pump so i started walking down the basement stairs into the water. i kept going down stairs until the water was up to the top of my waiders. overall, the water came to my chest (once i was stripped to boxers)
we decided to fuck that and called in the VACTA. cranked that bitch to half power and almost sucked up his couch. not that it would ever be used again

some of our roads have a foot or so of standing water. My trucks been in my relatively dry garage cause some roads weve had to cross had water up to the door sills and I wasnt risking it. this is the one time ive admitted defeat to his lifted 250 haha
