Did the smart watch thing for a while and really liked my Pebble Steel, but fitbit bought them out and I detest all of the other smart watches that I've looked at to replace it. I spend the $50 and dropped a new capacitor in my Seiko Kinetic and went back to wearing that. It's lasted 17 years, so I give it props for that.

I really dig that Maratac.....I may have to give one of those some serious consideration when my beat up Seiko gives up.

Titanium Tissot T-Touch 1853 Solar. The sapphire crystal is a touch screen with six options depending on where you touch the face. One of the best watches I own and it will stand up to pretty much anything. I used it for over a year before I retired from the Fire Dept at the age of 46.

And a Luminox which will pretty much stand up to anything plus is bright as hell at night.

I started with the original pebble, then gave it to a co worker when I bought the Pebble Steel, then a Pebble Time Steel about a week before the Fitbit acquisition. They just haven't held up for me. I've had sticky button issues on both steels, but very much love the interface............Hopefully some of that code makes it over to the Fitbit lineup. They can sell my data all they want, just give me a clean interface.

I've always been a fan of both of these watches, they are both on my watch wish list.

I really like the Tissot and it's been a great watch for the price. Before I retired from the FD I wore it each shift for almost 1 1/2 years with no issue or scratches. I'd really like to have a Breitling Aerospace Evo but I'm just not willing to fork over 3k for one right now. I can spend 3k on camera equip or a watch but it would be hard to explain to the wife if I bought a Breitling and camera equipment lol. But Breitling are "my" personal favorite watches. I don't wear jewelry other than watches and I never take one off. I almost feel naked without one. I've got 3 different Luminox watches and they are beaters to me but still are great watches for everyday use. Damn near indestructable.

Thread is getting a little old, but I just found it. Best watch I've ever owned.

    https://www.walmart.com/ip/Casio-Men-s-Solar-Atomic-G-Shock-Watch-Black-Resin-Strap/21777182

Not fancy or expensive, it just works. I bought my 1st one at least 15 years ago. I set the time when I took it out of the box, strapped it on my wrist and left it there for 10 years. Almost never took it off. It is solar powered so no battery changes. It has a radio receiver built in to receive data from the atomic clock in Colorado 4 times daily so the time and date is always EXACTLY right. Never have to change anything when going to or from daylight savings time. Once set you don't even have to push the button to light up at night, just hold it up to your face and it lights up.

About 5 years ago it started getting a little rough looking so I bought a 2nd one that looked better. The 1st watch after about 13 years finally got to the point it would no longer charge the batteries and I tossed it. The 2nd one is now 5 years old and just keeps on working.

Appreciate all of the replies and suggestions. I ended up ordering a Suunto Core can't wait to get it! Gonna swap the strap because I can't leave anything stock...

I wear a Samsung s2 most days at work, but I also have two Timex weekenders that I like to wear. For special occasions I wear my goofy backwards watch. Still on the lookout for a Honda BAR Seiko F1 if I can find one.

I wore that watch when I was a boy about 7-8 yrs oldish, for a couple of years straight and never took it off, I had the smaller version but exact same model.. Those are a good basic watch.

This is what I wear now. Retail about 320$. I found mine online brand new for 145$ + free shipping.

Nice watch the Formula, you will love the Aqua Racer too. My favorite is my Tag Monaco with silicone strap. Ive never gotten more compliments on a watch. People who know watches love it (when I travel or at work) and around town, those who may not know watches (they like the unique shape).

Quick internet pic cuz I'm too lazy to go get it. lol. Love it.

I am very happy with the G-shock. Durable, light and readable in all situations. I use it for work and play.

that's what I wear too. I'm afraid to wear mine to work cause sometimes I work with HCL and I know that it pits glass. I have been wearing my cheap 17 dollar casio to work but the battery just died again. That 17 dollar watch is one tough watch.
