I wouldn't let that hold you up. They make for great and some of the nicest neighbors out there.

    No worries.

It seems obvious, but it's a shock to a lot of people new to the area.

It's an incredible place and I miss it like crazy even though Colorado is home now.

I hear ya. I moved to SoCal for work 3 years ago and still live part time in both states now. Still can't let go of Utah. Love it there.

The gun laws are awesome. Truck should be Legal. Starting Jan 2018 the state is no longer going to require a safety inspection so some of the annoying "requirements" will not stop you from registering your truck. Like, window tint, mud flaps and fender flares (that I get hit with every year).

I mean, it's a big deal Re: your everlasting soul and all, but other than that you shouldn't worry :boink:

Just teasing you. It's a different culture as @jubei said but nothing to be concerned about. I'm one of 2 families out of 20 houses on my street that goes to the LDS church, so it's not like you'll be in any minority.

I'm not surprised that it's that way in SLC. The Salt Lake area is the most culturally and politically diverse part of the state.

Southern Utah is not nearly as varied, but it's not a bad thing per se. It's just far more homogeneous, that's all. Full disclosure.

Nope! People here believe what they want and for the most part don't try to cram it down your throat. It is a decent place raise a family too (don't know if that applies to you).

St George will check off every one of those items nicely! Very few nights ever below freezing. Very little snow. And lots of recreational opportunities nearby. Arguable one of the prettiest parts of the state too!

I would say the northend part is prettier, love me some snow and evergreens.

I'm super biased toward southern Utah, of course, but the fact that Utah has everything but the ocean is pretty damn cool.

I'm a desert rat, born and bred, but I love the Wasatch and the Uintas. And Salt Lake is the most beautiful bigger city I've ever seen.

Not a lot of people know this but we have a secret ocean if your into scuba diving up here. Bonneville Seabase. Pretty cool place to visit even if you don't scuba snorkelling is fun.

Yeah, don't think I'll make it out. That was definitely a fun run! LMK when you head back up here to do any wheeling or camping.

I was out there and a guy came pulling up in his corolla. I'd say you'd be just fine.

Where up Smith's Mesa? Are there some good trails or are you just referring to the dirt road that takes you up and through into the park?
