I'm getting a clattering sound when my truck is in drive and I turn the steering wheel either direction. It sounds like a heat shroud, or a loose exhaust clamp type of sound. It'll do it when the wheel is at full turn too. Replicated it with a helper and it's at the front of the engine. It clearly isn't exhaust. Any thoughts?

So it's making the noise while turning, even at a dead stop? Could be sway bay ends or tie rod ends.

It's definitely load related. No the noise is only there when the engine is under mild load at around idle. Cocking the wheels changes the rpms. Then I hear it.

I totally forgot to follow up on this. I was going through my old posts. If anyone ever has this issue, it was one of the heat shields making contact with the exhaust. Systematically, I've been removing them. Every time I drive through a large puddle at speed, the heat shields catch water and bend down. They then touch the exhaust and make a rattly sound at certain low RPMs.
