Wish Toyota do this to the 3rd gen right now

Looks like Toyota is introducing a new sub brand called GR, focused on performance tuning. Why don't they market this as TRD is beyond me.

The Taco could have used this performance enhancements, like yesterday.

 

Why? They are selling record numbers now, they have to build more capacity to keep up with demand. So they would want to sell even more units they can't build?

 

"nurburgring style tunes" yes just what a Tacoma needs

 

Ford Raptor have performance and suspension enhancement over regular F150. Toyota should have "tuned" the engine and transmission on the TRD Pro.

 

Their kinda ugly. Just my two cents.

 

your comparing a purpose built production race truck under svt to a Tacoma with some backing from trd.

 

It is somewhat comical that from a power standpoint, there is no difference in a V6 SR5 and a loaded Toyota RACING Development model...

is this sub brand replacing Scion? I agree with OP that GR and TRD at the same party might get a little awkward.

 

Gazoo Racing? Really? Top of the line models are GRMN (Gazoo Racing Masters of Nurburgring)

Hahahaha. It's almost like they were trying to make a parody of themselves.

 

They need to just put the 4.6 v8 and have a manual option for it

 

Already put down a deposit for a TRD Pro GRMN.

 

It's for Japan market. You won't see that here in the US. Certain things only work in certain markets
