I was sitting on the tailgate of the truck having a drink just chatting with my buddy when a woman tried to cut by and swiped the front of my truck.

Wonder how much the damage will be. It popped 2 of the clips out and she has admitted fault.

Is it time for a plate bumper?

Well that sucks. Glad she didn't take off on you. It doesn't look too terrible, but the first injury always hurts.

Sucks OP, but hells yes on the bumper. Take the check, grab a plate bumper and drive it like that til it arrives!

Yeah she was slowly rolling away but my buddy who has a certain look about him with 2 tattoo sleeves chased the car and yelled a few things which caused her to stop in her tracks.

Sorry to see this! I do have a question though about installing bars or a plate bumper mentioned by the OP here: in the "What have you done to your Tacoma today" thread, A member discussed the issue with me of potentially affecting the airbag system sensors by adding a bar or bumper up front. Are there any knowledgeable members here that can shed some info on exactly what we should or shouldn't do to avoid negatively affecting the Tacoma airbag system on our trucks? Thanks for any info on this, as I do want to modify and put on some more "shielding" on my new truck to protect it from all the great drivers we have in my town, but not to the detriment of the airbag system.

Airbags work off g force sensors not anything in the bumper. The only issue with plate bumpers is you'll be affecting the factory crumple zone.

Yep that is why I put my grill gard on , these trucks have that 14" crumple zone up front I figured the 600, was cheep insurance compared to the cost of repairs and rates going up . I have a SR black truck and the stainless steel dresses it up a bit. I'm old and like crome .

Good to know. I'm looking at one of those C4 low profile bumpers and insurance has assessed me 0% at fault. In BC we are a monopoly insurance that covers all parties which I am not a fan of; but when you're parked and sitting on the tailgate with your buddy and someone fucking hits your front end it's pretty cut and dry.

Glad you were around when it happened. I wasn't so lucky, I was inside shopping when it happened and the person took off, ~$1500 in damages, truck was only 3 months old.
