I just bought a GNTX-651 mirror that has a compass on it and I want to install it on my sr but I'm not that good with wiring and electrical.. I got this diagram but I don't understand electrical language... would any of you guys with more knowledge please give me some help? Can I tap it to my dome lights?

I can do it if someone explains it using a more basic language..

    Thanks in advance!!!

I don't have an SR so I have to ask, Have you checked to see if it's prewired for the mirror? The plug would look like the socket on the back of your new mirror, and if it's pre-wired it would be tucked up in the headliner by the mirror.

I checked and I didn't feel any cable were the headliner meets the windshield... that would've been awesome...

SR is not prewired for this, even those with the convenience package.

Run the wire as shown above, and use a fuse tap (low profile ATM, supplied fuses with the harness will not work here) to the ignition fuse under the dash. If there is homelink on the mirror, do the same thing using hazard fuse in the same box. The fuse box cover will not go back on , and the wires will tuck nicely behind the kick plate. I found a bolt down there somewhere to ground it as well, don't recall which one.
