    Hey all,
I wanted some advice on making my daily driver Taco more comfortable to drive and look better at the same time. I have a 2001 2dr prerunner. Specifically, Im interested in affordable options for a lift (1-2 inches higher than stock) wheel and tire package (all terrain would be fine) spacers (I like when the wheels are set out a bit further from the body) and lastly a 2 comfy bucket seats for the front (I realize that means new rails and all.) I dont take her off-road (I have a JKU for that and my taco is 4 cyl no 4wd), but I'd like her to be a smooth ride and look good doing it. Not looking to spend a whole lot on the whole thing, so please keep that in mind. Thanks in advance for your input and comments! Cheers

    Pretty much stock right now
Check wheelers off-road (a vender here). There are some low to moderate height suspension lifts out there. You can also search this site for what others have done.

It can run into some money though if you don't have a budget and stick to it. My suspension ran about $1,200 serveral years ago for leaf springs (Wheelers 5 leaf) front coils (OME 880s) and shocks all around, plus misc hardware. 1.5 inch lift.

Thanks for your help ghs57. I appreciate the link to wheelers, I'll take a look. Your truck looks great.

Do you have the one piece bench seat?

Check out the buy sell trade forums for wheel spacers. Most guys get 1.25" spidertrax or bora and you can find them used on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen forums because the hubs are all the same.

Maybe go bilsteins all the way around? That's what I did to my 04. Lil bit of lift, but rides smooth.

    Thanks for the welcome!

Ok, that sounds good. What specifically did you purchase? I really dont need that much lift as you've said. Thank you!

I do have the bench seat! The long commute is killing me riding in this thing without buckets. Ok, thanks for the spacer info!

3rd gen 4Runner buckets are pretty much direct swap (rails and all) the front outside tab on each side will have to be bent downwards a little. 8 bolts and done. Look for a Limited model, they are leather and have manual adjustable lumbar

Don't take this as fact, but are the one piece bench seats missing some holes for buckets? I know my 60/40 bench accepted 01-04 buckets w/o modification, but I can't remember what I read about the bench seat's mounting holes.

I went with bilstein 5100's. From wheelers. They are adjustable. I just used them to level the truck. Still used stock coils up front and stock leaves in rear. U can go zero lift and have a smooth ride

For a rear 1-2" lift, I went with a progressive add-a-leaf pack, from Wheelers Offroad. Works great. I rarely haul heavy loads, so I didn't re-install the bottom overload leaf.

If you want a nice ride, DO NOT get the single add-a-leaf.
