My clutch malfunctioned while driving down the highway. It had started slipping about a week before so i knew i was about to have to replace it. However before i could i was driving and tried to shift and none of the gears would engage. The shifter flows freely between gears without pushing the clutch pedal. I replaced the clutch/pilot bearing/ throwout bearing and it still does the same. Maybe the slave cylinder?

Did you knock the transfer case in neutral reinstalling things

    Slipping is the clutch

Not going into gear is the hydraulics most times.

You put a new clutch kit in and didn`t do the hydraulics while the slave cylinder was off

    Dear Kane,

Sorry to hear about your manual transmission troubles. I am assuming you replaced your entire clutch assembly because you said you replaced the throw out and pilot bearing in your original post. Wyoming is correct in his analysis that slipping in gear is the clutch, and getting in and out of gear is the clutch hydraulic cylinder.

It sounds like the problem is indeed coming from the clutch's hydraulic slave cylinder. You, most likely, do not have the clutch hydraulic cylinder completely installed, or it is installed incorrectly.

    Good Luck,
    Paul
