Mine was bolted directly to the crash bar and had no cutting.

Dunno if I have any front end shots, but it was totally behind the lower valance mesh.

This is how I originally had mine. But had to drill holes into the crash bar to use the factory brackets that came with the bar.
Wasn't a very secure option as I couldn't get the bolts to snug down completely.

Then I found the cheap hidden bar brackets I got and it worked beautifully!

Might be able to get you a deal on a Rigid quality bar without the Rigid logo. Anyway, I wouldn't plan on mounting until you have a bar in hand. Pop the grill out, see how it fits. I used stackers washers to space mine vertically into the center of the lower valance, and bolted it in with appropriate length bolts for the height I needed. Super rigid, no shakes, no problems, and no cutting.

Wish I remembered exactly how mine was, not sure if I had nuts inside the crash bar if we threaded the crash bar holes.

Either way, mine was as tight as I could turn it after buying hardware at Lowe's.

I couldn't find a way to get a nut/wrench inside the crash bar without removal of it. At that point, he might as well get the brackets I linked

    I used lag bolts :anonymous:

Chad will get brackets. He's just resisting.

    More parts = more better.
