I recently am the happy owner of a 2017 trd 4x4 off-road Tacoma. What are some good seat cover options. Considering I have dogs. I surf, snowboard, skateboard. I have cloth seats I'd like to protect.

I did the CLAZZIOS for the very reason that you speak of OP. Happy on all accounts.

I have a 2012, and had pretty similar requirements - kids, dog (sadly no longer with us), windsurfing, skiing, mountain biking. So I was looking for hard wearing and water resistant.

I started with Wet Okoles - they definitely fit the bill on water resistant. But man, they're stuffy/hot to sit in. And what's worse, they (a) are hard to keep clean (mud is not your friend on these...) and (b) don't do so well with doggies. So I sold them before they got trashed and went with Clazzios - got the ones with leather on the main seat/backrest surface, vinyl on the outsides. They were a bit finicky to put on, but not to bad. Had them for about three years now.

    Pro:
    • They are mostly easy to clean, pretty hard wearing, and feel pretty damn nice.
    • They look really good for aftermarket seat covers. Nope, they're not going to fool anyone looking closely into thinking it's factory leather or leatherette - but they are definitely nice and not chintzy.

    Con:
    • They're pretty pricey for seat covers.
    • The 'mostly easy to clean' thing is because the perforations in the leather parts tend to collect a little bit of grime. Not bad, but not nearly as trouble free as a totally smooth surface.
    • I installed seat heaters at the same time. They're brilliant (and really easy to wire if you go for the one with the simple toggle switch that are also offered on Clazzio's website). But if you do that, either be prepared for a very frustrating experience waiting for a long time for the heat to kick in, or get the foam backing off the seats (that's the route I finally went).

If I had to do it over, I'm not sure I'd go the same way. Maybe I'd just go with a nice canvas cover that is easy to take off and throw in the washer if needed (check Cabelas for that sort of thing). Then again, the wipe down bit is really nice. Whatever cover you buy, make sure it works with your seats' airbags.

I like the covercraft Carhartt material ones. The grey nearly matches the grey interior for 3rd Gen. Washable and tough, but not waterproof. I would think Neoprene and Leather/Vinyl would get scratched up pretty easily with dog claws.

The Carhartts don't look as nice as the Clazzio though, but they do fit well. Better than most of the photos I see here.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
what you see here is my Carhartts -- I think they are great -- follow their install instructions and give them a washing before you install them. Great things come to those who are patient!

Huge fan of the Coverking genuine Neoprene. Bought them off Costco.com for $350 (front and back). Pick up a bit of wetsuit cleaner and wipe down with a cloth from time to time... I don't like the hot/cold nature of leather unless I had heated and cooled seats which I don't. The neoprene regulates temperature really well, is cut tight to fit our seats (people often are surprised when I tell them they are covers and not OEM).

I've got the same ones love them. I got two boys that play allot of baseball and are always covered in that red clay dirt. Well worth the wait for sure.

Isn't there a good seat cover that looks kind of like stock ?

I like the way the seats look, just want to protect what I got ......

69,000% go with clazzio, best decision I've ever made. Every time someone new gets in they're impressed by the leather i say they're seat covers and they lose their minds. mine took some serious rigging to make them work right but they were worth it, oh yeah your hands will hurt for a week after putting them on, they're literally tighter than tight.

Bartract is supposed to be launching their 3rd Gen Taco seat covers soon; I've been trying to hold out for those. Had them in my jeep and they held up to a ton of abuse. Never faded, no broken/torn stitches, retained their nice snug fit.
