Since I'm just running through the slider this weekend, I'll drop it in the console and test it out with it closed, see how muffled it is.

It works well with the cover just barely open, and I keep the Mike out (has controls on it).

Thought about putting a Bluetooth setup on the audio out to hear the radio better, but then I'd curse whenever someone keyed up over my favorite songs when I was just in monitoring mode. Keeping the volume up a bit and leaving the cover ajar works well enough to hear it.

Hey, try not to pinch that coax in the slider- I put a piece of weather stripping on mine and don't close it tight- that's enough to keep sound and water out and the radio happy when it transmits. Have fun camping!

Don't have weather stripping. Not gonna buy it for a one time use either. Might just cover the small gap with tape. Not ideal but it'll work for a couple days.

This has been confirmed to work with the President radio. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B3QBRQQ/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2YTUP8T9YD2O6

The aux port isn't a bad idea either.

Hope it’s not too late now buddy but I ran my entire line from antenna tailgate driver’s side along the frame up into the engine compartment and through the firewall hole. No drilling, cutting, or weatherproofing needed. Works perfectly! The radio itself is mounted under the driver’s seat with plenty of volume from the unit to hear over other noise. I did get upsold on a aux speaker and have that mounted next to the front passenger seat. Very happy with the results! Lmk if you have any questions.

I haven't hard wired anything in yet. My coax cord isn't long enough to go from tailgate to engine bay through that firewall though, I'd have to buy a new one. Im going to try running it through the bottom grommets near the frame this weekend, pull the seat, pull the carpet and find where everything runs.

I am curious however on how you mounted your radio under the seat. Did you fab a mount? Is it just velcroed down? If you have any pictures that would be great! That was one of my possible options, but I'm still undecided on where to put it. My unit is definitely loud enough to put sound out from under.

I have mine under my seat. I have a detachable face that I mounted to the area above the center cubby. We cut a section of my old mudflap, stuck it under the carpet and drilled the radio body into it. Works great and doesn't move.

There is a grommet just behind the driver’s seat but I didn’t want to take a chance with water crossings and the jarring causing slicing of the line.

I ended up purchasing an extended line to make it happen without compromising the cab.

I literally set the radio under the seat and it doesn’t move. I like the old mudflap mount idea though from @Redfive11 !

I made a custom mount for the faceplate to attach to the iPad mount.

Mine doesn't have the detachable face plate. Should have done some more research in to that prior, but I had initially planned on just sticking it between the seat and center console but there's not enough room. Might try that mudflap idea though sounds nifty.

I'll look in to an extended coax. But I think going under the truck would be fine. Just need to seal it back up with some silicone. I'll see how it looks this weekend when I rip everything out of there
