    Is there a physical reason with our diffs that preclude a 5.29 ration being created? Or is it just a demand problem..... Everytime I have spoken with industry personnel it has always been a demand problem, at least the way I understood it.

    Question: do the 3rd gens use the same diff as 2nd gens?

    4.88s is fine for 37s tho. I know people that run 35 inch swampers and are happy with 4.56s

    I think so. I think physically you cant fit a 5.29 in there. The ring gear would have to be too thick for the smaller pinion.

    As of last October at the offroad expo I spoke with Big Mike and Marlin. They did not know of a 5.29 manufacturer, nor did they know of anyone interested in manufacturing. I even asked if I brought the money to the table would they do a run for me... Which they were too busy to be interested in, but sent me to Revolution Gear. We worked out a deal and started (loosely) to work on this, but I got busy and had to drop it.

    Coming back to this: Question: do the 3rd gens use the same diff as 2nd gens?

    3rd gen rear axle no... 2 different axles for the 3rd gen

    AFAIK front diff clamshell assembly is identical on the 3rd gen. The only difference on the 3rd gen is the bigger rear LCA bolt at the frame (same as FJ / 4 runner with dual vvti 1gr)

    What rim size? If it's 16", 305/65R16 is nowhere near 37". It's actually shorter than 285/75R16.

    285/75/r16 procomp wheels ->
    305/65/r17 SCS Ray 10s ->
    37/12.5/r17 Ray 10s
    Gears won't be changed until 37s

    @THROTTLE231 you have 5.29s for the stock rear right? Any idea of where I could get some for the front?

    Yes Sir...Running 5.29 on 37" with Stock rear. Well from what I know 4.88 is the Max man. Have you called Randys or ECGS to confirm yet? You could always go SAS for those 5.29:boink: I have friends running 4.88 with 35-37 and love them. Keep us posted what you find/direction.
