My lamson is good. The drag is incredibly smooth. I've had it 4 years with no issue.

I agree, I just have an issue how it feels physically, nothing to do with the drag system.

Not bad at all. Heck that's how long it takes me to get 1/2 way to the northern tip of Maine.

Just stumbled into this thread. I recently picked up fly fishing, as I like to explore backcountry rivers and lakes here in CO. Picked up a relatively cheap TFO rod and reel setup and took a class at a local fly shop. The next day I went out to some small ponds below one of the 13ers near my house. I was able to catch several cutthroat and my wife and I had delicious trout for dinner.

I can’t wait. I love it out there. Streamers in the day. Maybe some mice at night. 5 days/4.5 nights of fishing on some of the best trout water in America :woot:

Back from my trip to Alberta which didn't go as planned due to backcountry closures (fire hazards), but it still turned out to be a good trip. Knocked Artic Grayling off my bucket list and caught my biggest Brown Trout to date which was amazing. I'm already trying to figure out when my next trip will be, but until then I will be fishing local flows for salmon and trout!

I put the donut reel to good use this trip fishing streamers! :) Here are a few photos from the trip.

I went 0-2 on salmon in an hour of fishing yesterday. Boy got to fight them both before they broke off.

Got my first Spanish mackerel on fly today off the beach. Surprisingly, it took my 8wt all the way down to my backing. Awesome fighter!

Has anyone used the Rio avid 150gr sink tip line for throwing streamers out of a tube? What’s everyone’s go to line for throwing streamers?

Nice! I fished for Sierra (pacific version of these fish) on my 9 and 10wt rods and they smoked me. Great initial runs but don't have the depth and strength for long fights. They are cool looking fish too. I hear they are fantastic eating too but I wouldn't know.

That's awesome, I haven't even been fishing in about a month. I really need to get an 8wt and head to the coast for a weekend.
