    Just want to give a big shout out to Toyota Service Department for covering a stretched ABS wire (lifted truck) under the warranty of my 2017 tacoma!! Guys were really nice and were very informative.

    So they didn't "respect" the warranty, they went above and beyond and covered something they shouldn't have. Gotcha.

    Depends on whether he bought the truck already lifted from that dealership or not. If already lifted they have to cover the truck. If not then sounds like a pretty good dealership, and that's hard to come by lol

    Isn't people's interpretation of customer service amazing?
    If they were upstanding, and followed policy and told him no, he would have been MF'ing them left and right ....but processing fraudulent warranty claims makes them amazing

    you are 100% correct....people are very interesting and so amazingly self focused. Reality check, when Toyota fixes BS warranty claims like this it raises cost for the company, in this case, Toyota. Who do you think covers this increase in cost? THE CONSUMER ie. you and I.

    I am so confused with these comments. Went in knowing what could have happened and have seen post of it going both ways. Reason I bought a new vehicle was because of the warranty and it makes me happy to see a dealership, know and explain to me why it is not usually covered but since they can not prove directly the cause did it anyway. Thank god for the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and a great dealership.

    Just wanted to share a time when the dealer went above and beyond to help the consumer. I am just happy to see Toyota's great costumer service in action (just came from ford and not the best service in my opinion).

    They're saying if you broke the wire during an install then it's not able to be warrantied.

    And it isn't.

    If I go blow a motor, they don't just warranty it. If the motor is defective (if they broke your wire during lift install, or it was flawed from factory) then it is a warranty item.

    Was not broke during install. Thought I would run into trouble with that but installed by another dealer and broke a month after install.

    The right way to handle it would have been for the dealer to good will it to you and eat it against their policy account for that department. Since service advisors get paid commission on sales(including warranty claims ) less policy adjustments, they don't like to do that becuse it directly costs them money.
    Passing something on to Toyota as warranty is a double entendre for them. They make money off of it and you get something you shouldn't for free. Generating customer loyalty overall satisfaction, and higher CSI scores...which they also get bonuses off.

    So a toyota dealership installed the lift? If so it should have been warranty work
