Looking to get a TRD OR with premium package so color matched flares. I was thinking quicksand at first but now I hear cement might be available. Any thoughts on Quicksand vs. Cement?

All TRD OR's come with the black fender flares. Premium package only gets them color-matched rear bumpers

You're comparing a model to a trim level, but I get what you are saying. I had an '06 FJ and payed below MSRP as I assume many others did. Finding someone who paid below MSRP on a TRD Pro is pretty rare.

    Just the basics
Just think you can get the old Pro color in all levels now. That and LED tails would be worth the wait IMO.

Don't worry it will change at some point. Even the 1st gen tacos with the TRDOR got painted ones later on. Or just get them painted or wrapped.

That's all personal preference, I for one love the black fenders on the quicksand and thing the sport quicksands look terrible being all color matched.

This should be true for the ordering process. My truck is being built next week and the regional manager said that the last week of September is the final week of builds for 2017 and he would let me know of any changes to the 2018 in case I changed my mind.

Well damn guess I got some bad intel along the way. I'd still rather have the OR black flares and all.

Yes to the black fender flares on all TRD O/R's (even if it's a 2WD O/R), but it turns out that the Premium package is not the only one getting color matched bumpers.

I was expecting to get the chrome bumper but it came with the color matched bumper without any rear sensor holes! The only options I had was the tow package, predator step tubes, TRD Pro grill, bed mat, and rubber floor mats.

    I'm certainly not complaining!! :D

This will be a significant upgrade for you. Which trim do you plan to get?

Welcome to TW and welcome to the 21st century, jk

I did a similar upgrade, 1997 Dakota to a 2016 Tacoma. Let's just say it was a little bit of culture shock, but looking forward to getting at least 20 years out of this Taco.

Can't even imagine what the next truck will have. Flux capacitor maybe, lol.

Good luck with the new ride!

It's all preference. Granted, the QS is supposed to look like a rugged, military-esque color. But once they get hooked up, they look just as good as any other color with matching fenders.

(not limiteds, but still have paint matched fenders)

I've been looking into getting a QS once my lease is up on my current car. The main thing that I personally really dislike is the chrome bumper, but that could also be the fact that I hate chrome period. This was the truck I had went to go check out before I started doing my research on lifts especially. Turns out the dealer is using blocks on this trd sport and was asking 46k.
