I was cleaning my Tacoma and was taking apart my console and when undid the knob it becomes really hard to shift it it will even shift. Also it is causing my key to get stuck in accessory mode and on but won't come out of the ignition without me unplugging the connector behind the shift knob pls help.

I'm assuming you put the knob back with the 2 screws? Sounds like the shift lock solinoid is out of alignment or broke. Your going to need to take cover back off. Leave knob alone. Check on the passenger side of shifter mechanism for a withe plastic part. See if anything is broke.
I'll try to find some illustrations.

yeah i think its the button on the knob because it wont push the solenoid all the way down. its aligned correctly but when the cover it has difficulty pushing the solenoid but if i take the over off and push the button it works fine

Under the big beige shift knob/button there is a little red button with threads in the bottom of it for height adjustment for the safety solenoid. this is your problem, I know because it was my problem.
    >disassemble shift knob
    >remove shift knob from metal post
    >adjust the little red button down until the key come out of the ignition
