Hello. Im new to this but i could really use your advise. The engine lights on, took to autozone and the cat codes appeared. 05 prerunner v6 . 200,000 miles about. I have changed all the 02 sensors. And cleaned the AFR sensor. The engine light goes off and on. Its not on all the time.

what are the specific codes? post it up so someone with the same code can help. for the most part if the codes are particularly pointing to bad catalytic converters and you already replaced the O2 sensors, then you'll have to replace the cats.

hhmmm...usually a code like p0420 would be related to cat. that code seems to be crankshaft position sensor. https://repairpal.com/obd-ii-code-P0320 . what are you experiencing with your car?

hhmm....clean your MAF and reset the ECU. but those codes are usually cat related. your a/f mixture isn't right. you might be running rich.

Ok here is the update and what I did . I did a ton of reading and youtubing . At 1/2 a tank I added a gallon of lacquer thinner . Drove to work and back . Bout 80 miles . Then at 1/4 tank I added the cataclean . Drove about 30 miles . When to parts store and cleared all codes . My 0420 code was gone . It seems to have worked . My other codes are speed sensors. Got parts ordered to fix that .

Good news - keep us updated on the long run - is there any possible damage to the motor from burning lacquer thinner or cataclean ? Thanks for any reply.

Well after driving about 75 miles my code 0420 came back . So the cataclean didn't work for me . Just picked up a new O2 sensor going to give that a try before I start cutting out converter's
