When driving the truck, it sounds like a thumping noise every tire rotation. I thought it was perhaps my tire that needed replacing but noise was still there when I swapped the front left tire to the rear.

When I jack up the truck, this is the noise it makes as I hand spin the wheel. The passenger side doesn't have the same noise. I'm not positive that it's the wheel bearing because when I grab top/bottom and shake, there's no noticeable free play.

What do you guys think? Wheel bearing, front CV axle, or diff bearing? I appreciate any feedback that is offered. Thanks!

The same shit everyone else has.
    Sounds like a wheel bearing.

Put the truck on jackstands and grab the wheel at 6 and midnight and shake it. Then do it at 3 and 9oclock. What happens? 3 and 9oclock would be a tie rod. 6 and midnight would be balljoint or wheel bearing.

When you spin the tire, is there a spot that feels like it catches or binds? looks like it takes some force to spin.

When you go around a right hand turn, does the noise go away? Then come back when you straighten the wheel out? Does the noise increase with speed?

My wheel bearings recently went bad. Same noise when spinning the tire. Zero play when shaking the wheel. The noise went away when turning the wheel while driving.

I replaced both of mine, and the front end is silent now

    Yup, front wheel bearing

Not every wheel bearing problem causes the tire to have play

i went ahead and ordered the pre-pressed front wheel bearing kit from Marion.

Thanks for all the help and feedback!

On another but related note, if it makes a slight noise when i grab at 9 and 3 o clock and shake it, does that mean I need to replace tie rods? When i do this,I feel like the noise is because it's hitting the steering wheel lock, not necessary from the tie rods being loose but not 100% sure.

It was the driver's side front wheel bearing that was bad. Noise went away completely when replaced.

Took about 3 hours taking my time to do the drivers' side. the passenger side took about 2.5 hours. Hardest part was pressing in the inner seal where the CV meets the hub. I also bought the bearing pre-pressed from a vendor on this board.

To give other people an idea... my mileage is at 133,000. Passenger side appeared to be fine still but replaced that just in case. I should have replaced it closer to 90-100k miles though because the new bearing also improved my braking (i thought my brakes easily overheated because i work in a hilly area). I am running about a 2" lift with 1.5" wheel spacers and TRD Beadlock rims (another 0.5-1" of offset I think). 99% on-road driving.
