It's painful to admit, but the stock Goodyears are great tires

Well......I'm not being much of a 'bro' by admitting this, but the stock Goodyear wranglers on the TRD Off-road were a great choice by Toyota. I've been looking for every excuse to replace them with something that looks tougher, looks bigger, or gets more "bro cred", but my practical side keeps reminding me they have yet to let me down. I've put about 3500kM off-road on these tires, including quite a bit of driving on jagged rock, and no complaints. They are an excellent on and off road tire, and Toyota made a wise choice in spec'ing them. The compromise of good off-road traction, light weight, durability, and road manners does seem to have been achieved with the tires. I especially appreciate the smooth ride on rough logging roads that you don't get from a 10-ply K-bro no matter how much you air down.

In the past, I had a Ford Ranger FX4 with Wranger RTS tires that were the worst dealer tires I've ever experienced in all regards (other than treadlife........they would not die), so was not expecting much from the Goodyear Wrangler All-terrain adventure tires. I have been pleasantly surprised. I think the heavy siping of these tires is another thing they benefit from . The off-road treadwear is the only thing I am suspicious of as they seem to be wearing down quite fast.

Anyways........just a fist bump for the other dudes out there who are ashamed to admit they like the stock Wranglers. They rock.

Mine had about 40k on them and needed replaced when I got rid of the truck, but they were pretty good in a multitude of conditions that's for sure. I liked them enough that I'm buying a set to put on the 3rd Gen. 4runner I just bought

I took my new truck on imogene and ophir passes with the stock tires and they had great traction plus they were quiet on the drive from TX.

They are the best OEM tires i've had on a vehicle. Good compromise between on road and off road. Significantly better traction on road than my KO2's on the 2011.

I put a set of Duratracs on my truck last fall, very happy with them. As others will tell you though, they are noisier than the stock rubber and they do get louder as they wear. Very good traction in mud and snow.

yeah, I know it’s cool to hate on stock OEM stuff, but I really like these tires too. I’ll also be getting duratracs when these wear out, but after 20k miles, they still have plenty of life.

These are great in the snow as well, though not great stoppers on ice. They are a great all around tire.

They don't look like off road tires so I expected them to be quiet, however, when I'm on a new asphalt highway above 60 mph the back tires have a song that, "Talks to me all wrong".

i have the Kevlar GY's on the Pro. they have 51 miles on the set. if anyone wants to buy them, i'll sell them for $100 for the set if buyer also pays to have them unmounted from their wheels. in north DFW.

I bought my Tacoma in June, and am not going to lift it or do bigger tires, will leave it pretty much stock. Makes little sense to me to spend thousands of dollars to reduce mileage, increase wear and tear, degrade handling, all to gain a couple of inches of ground clearance and make it look "cooler"......guess I'm not much of a bro either.

In any case, I live in a region which gets a lot of snow and icy roads, and I'm curious to see how the stock tires handle those conditions, but I suspect they'll do fine. I'll likely drive these until they wear out, and then maybe get some KO2s or their descendants. We shall see.

They are great tires, no doubt. For most people, the only downside is no aggressive look/tread. I enjoyed mine while I had them, but ended up with the Falken Wildpeaks because of the more aggressive appearance, quiet ride, and very reasonable price.

I would go back to the Wranglers if I wanted to keep a more conservative stock look on my rig.

I'll admit that moving to more aggressive tires was a regrettable move, too. I'm not defending the stock Dunlops that came on my TRD Sport -- they were getting a little slippery at about 25K miles -- but moving to more aggressive tread/look tires has only made the handling a bit worse, the tire noise louder and the milage go down by about 1mpg. And the truck seems heavier and a bit slower, too. When these Coopers wear out I'll probably go back to a more mainstream tire.

I'm pretty sure they suck in mud. The limited mud driving I've done they plug up pretty good, but the truck's traction control and locker come into play then and I got through.

Nothing other than a MT tire and some decent wheel spin will be good in mud.

Truck cap , husky liners, deflector shield, ARE truck cap.
Not a bad tire but would prefer Toyota installing BFG's from the factory.

Make sense to run them till they need replacing. I don't really get the whole K02 bromance.

I'm really liking these tires more and more. Spent a few days in CO a couple weeks ago. I was worried about punctures on the rocks out there, but no issues. Truck rode great on the highway going out and coming back too. When I do get new tires, I may just go to a 265/75 in this model....

I'll agree with you, I didn't have any issues with mine. They did awesome at Choccolocco Off Road park in Alabama. I did replace them with Cooper ST Maxx 285/75/16's because I wanted that rugged look and a bigger size.
