I'm seriously looking at getting a Alu-Cab, but wanted to see if anyone had some input on these. I especially like the wide window openings!

There's a guy on ExPo, perhaps also here on TW with a 2nd gen with an early AluCab shell. I met up with him and checked it out. Pretty impressive design; finish and workmanship were OK, probably about the same as a domestic commercial aluminum cap. The side and rear door hinges, latches and seals looked very well done; also the rack. He was very happy with it ... and he was a serious Taco guy with a well-modded truck that sees lots of offroad use.

I have an Alu-Cab canopy, tent, and awning on the way. I live in New Orleans but travel to Woodworth, LA almost every other weekend. Once I get it installed, I can send pics or you can check it out when I pass through Baton Rouge. The equipment has arrived in NJ at OK4WD from South Africa; just waiting on the shipment to LA.

I'm sure they'll ship anywhere in the lower 48 from Jersey. The problem is, how long are you willing to wait?

I have seen one on a second gen and didn't notice any big mismatch between the cab and shell. I do believe that the current design has been slightly modified from the first units which were developed for the overseas market Hilux.

I do believe those are two different companies. :)

I'd love to have either one on my Tacoma though!

I love mine, unfortunatly Im selling the whole rig to step into a 4x4 sprinter.
Security, side access, and strength to weight ratio, is what sold me on it.

@learmiller ... are you interested in selling the AluCab or other bits separately? But maybe I should ask, where are you?

Im in Arizona, Im really trying not to part it out.
The truck does me no good without a shell to keep my equipment safe.

MT stuff, RTT stuff, the usual.
Let me know if you decide to sell the Alu-cab separately please.
