I only have about 2600 miles on my truck but when I brake hard(not pedal to the floor) the tires will skid and make a loud noise. is this normal. I also just had my first 6 month maintenance and still does it.

If your ABS is engaging.....then yes, it's normal

No. Toyota had thuis stupid "I think your panic braking so ill apply more pressure to the brakes than you do". if you come off the accelerator and hit the brakes too quickly, itll automatically apply more pressure to the brakes and usually causes it to go into ABS causing the squeaks.

Do you need to know, or care?
Had this happen today. Not to the floor, but front locked and ABS kicked in. I would say it's normal.

On the OR, it has an additional brake assist. It all depends on speed of actuation, not force of actuation. So, if you panic brake you will do what you say in your post. I know this from having a '16 4Runner Trail with the same system. I have the Tacoma TRD Sport and it has normal brakes thank God.

You can push it as hard as you want, just don't push it too fast.
