I've got the press on pulley, I went from 2.85 to 2.7 to 2.55, lol still trying to get fifty bucks for the 2.7!

I totally agree with your thoughts on the y-pipe, it only makes sense at this point to change it.

I love my quickchange design due to ease of changability. The jump from 2.7 to 2.55 must have been huge for you! It was for me from my 2.85 to 2.55. Lol.

Yes, I noticed an immediate "drivability" improvement, it pulled stronger right off idle and as soon as I started to accelerate, even when pulling away modestly

Stock Y-pipe and rest of the exhaust?

Why it won't rev over 5300 rpm? Mine revs 6200.

It would rev further, but I didn't get a warm fuzzy feeling of the guy behind the wheel of my truck doing the testing, so I told him to cut it at 5500.
Regarding the exhaust, yes stock y-pipe and stock rest of the exhaust (as came on xrunner, not sure if different models had the same or different stock system)

So, there is maybe 20-30 more whp there, I have seen them rising all the time until the rev limiter cut it.

Perhaps on a cooler day, everything got heat soaked immediately after the first run

I was considering adding the Volant scoop. Do you think it makes a measurable difference in IAT?

I think it was 309 but I'll have to go back and check.

Just got back from a little ride, belt slip seems gone!
Like I mentioned earlier, overall very pleased with the truck, it makes the perfect driver now

As soon as Gadget gets his new website straightened out. The URD y-pipe is listed as 10% off, but an error on the page isn't discounting it from list price. I also noticed the old forummember discount code isn't working at checkout. Does anyone know a new or different discount code that works?
I'm hoping he fixes it, I would have already ordered it.

Other than that, I'll start off keeping the stock cat back and hear how that sounds before going any further. Throaty is good, but I definitely don't want a raspy obnoxious sounding exhaust

I checked Gadget's site again this morning, and he has a new y-pipe listed for the 2x4 & 4x4 tacoma. Just placed my order!

New URD y-pipe just arrived today. I've noticed the cross over pipe drops down low before meeting up with the passenger side pipe. Hopefully this won't be an issue with my lowered x-runner. I eyed it up and it looks like it may not drop lower than the crossmember brace, but I can't tell for sure until I get it fitted. Keeping my fingers crossed

You purchased the 4x4 Y-pipe. It will still work.

He only offers 1 now, it's supposed to be fine with both 4x2 and 4x4
