So my 2010 4.0l v6 Tacoma is having a problem with the A/C non of the lower setting work. For example if I have my A/C turned all to the highest setting it blows cold air threw the vents but if I change it to any other setting other than full blast no air comes out I don't know if this is just a i need to do one of those refrigerant/Freon things or if something is wrong with my A/C compressor if someone has had similar problems please let me know what you did to fix it

Not sure it relates, but on GM vehicles those symptoms mean a new ballast resistor for the blower motor. Does the fan work on other settings (defrost, heat, etc.)

Sounds like a blower motor issue. Much cheaper repair than an AC issue.

Try searching a/c resistor on here... From what I've read here, the high setting bypasses the resistor, and the resistor going bad is a common problem on Tacoma.

Resistor! Replace it and be done. Think of electricity like water in a garden hose and resistance is you putting a kink in the hose. The resistor works as the same way as a kink in the hose. The more you kink it the less flow you will get out.

The resistor pigtail needs to be replaced too.

Not necessarily. Check it first. The resistor yes, the pigtail, maybe not.

I was having the same issue. Pulled the resistor and it was all rusted and the green clay like substance was cracked. A new resistor runs between 40-50 last I checked. They no longer make the stock resistor. The new one will not look even close to the old (that threw me off) Popped the new one in and no more issues It's located on the passengers side right behind the fan housing. Very easy to find and eliminate the issue.
