    Anyone know the easiest place on a first gen to tap in power for my TRD boost gauge to light up? Thanks!

    Will this allow it to dim as well? That would be nice! Also would this be as simple as just splicing into the pos/neg wires in the plug to the dimmer? Thanks.

    I ended up taping into a positive on the fog light switch, but I would venture to guess that it would allow dimming if the correct wire is tapped. I've not tested that as I wanted my gauge light to only come on with my parking/headlights.

    t-taps work and you do not have to cut any wires coming from the switch that you choose for power. I did not tap into any negative wires, simply grounded my gauge negative wire to a bolt behind the kick panels attached to the chassis.

    Thought I'd share with you guys what I ended up doing. I found it difficult to find directions on how exactly to install a TRD Boost Gauge. So this may help some of you guys like me who were trying to find install directions. I know hooking up a gauge may seem like a real simple task for most, but I'm not the most knowledgable when it comes to the electrical side of things. Anyways, I ended buying an Add-A-Circuit from autozone and tapped it into the tail light circuit (same circuit dash lights are on). I then removed the pillar, drilled a hole for the boost line/wires, mounted the pod with 3M molding tape, ran the wires, and installed the gauge. Worked great!

    Clamped down pod to pillar and let it bond while doing all the other work.

    Installed connectors on the gauge wires so it can be removed without having to pull any wiring out with it.

    Used an Add-a-circuit to tap into the tail light circuit. This enabled my gauge light to come on with my dash lights.

    Had it painted to match my interior. Pretty cheap too.

    I wired mine to the dimmer switch and it works perfect.
