You will be sitting higher than it normally would with a washer under the spacer

On prinsu site trying to order a rack, does the powder coating not cost extra now???? Before it used to end up being like $500+ for the powder coat. Anyone???

i ordered mine on 7/25 and received it this past Wednesday. I won't be able to install it until Friday but, i did go ahead and assemble it in my barn and everything went together nice. Looks very good.

I have a Plano waterproof gun case that I am going to mount to it, should I use T-Nuts in the slots and bolt through the case or use 2" u bolts and go around the bars?

    thanks

I've thought about both ways- and I think the most secure way would be to go ahead and use the U bolts. You could put some rubber or vinyl between the Ubolt and the crossbars

Marvelousone- I just put in my Prinsu cabrack on my white 4x4 too and drove with it for about 180 freeway miles today at about 70 mph. I noticed some wind noise and am ok with it, but noticed that most of the noise was from around the deflector (I have it in the middle setting). I see you put yours on the lowest setting and put something on the bottom of the deflector, too. What did you put on on it? Does it help with wind noise?

    Anyone else?

Almost everyone puts the wind deflector on the lowest setting. What you probably have seen on the bottom of it in pics is called Noise Reducing Edge Trim. It's an option that I purchased and it seems to help alot.

T-nuts looks cleaner, and means less drilling.

I’ve tried all the positions. Quietest for me was middle but while all 4 bolts are loose, pushing the nose of the fairing down and raising the top rear edge up to make the fairing angle more vertical. Then tighten bolts.

When I moved the angle the other way making the fairway more horizontal, got a really bad vibration/harmonic sound.

You’re just using the small amount of play due to the bolt hole size vs bolt diameter and maybe moving the fairing 1/2” at most but it does make a difference.

I have a leak... so the crap silicon that I could find here locally in Germany didn’t work for crap. I need to rip it out and replace it with something better. Does anyone have any recommendations that I can purchase off of Amazon? I am looking for something better that will hold up. Currently my truck is hiding in the carport during rain until I can find something better.

Thanks for your reply! I will try this before I take it fully off from the middle setting. Moving it more vertical will increase drag a bit, but the amount you are saying would be minimal - did the harmonics you mention when you pushed the top back more sound like a thumping sound? I had a bit of that happening in the current middle setting too.

yeah thats what i was thinking, would look cleaner.

i was thinking of using these:
    https://www.tnutz.com/product/ds-010-drop-in-t-nut-with-set-screw/
in the crossbar , two on the first rail and two on the last rail. then use 1/4x20 bolts and fender washers through the bottom of the plano case.

It would be nice to get rectangular Ubolts that fit the bars tightly, then plastic dip the bolt parts that touch the bars.

Keep in mind though that your weak points using either ubolts or tnuts will always be the same on a Prinsu rack: it's the four screws holding each of the bars to the sides.
