i just purchased a 2017 Toyota Tacoma Limited. I noticed that there 2 holes on the composite bed below the sliding glass window that have no screws in them. In addition when driving on smooth paved roads I can hear some rattling. It's a light sound but noticeable. I can imagine that if I were driving off road the noise would be louder. Should there be screws in those holes or they are not required for proper installation of the composite bed? I called the dealer about it today but I haven't heard back from them yet. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you
    Mike

I believe those are for the OEM tonneau cover. Mine are empty holes as well.

They are for mounting the factory tonneau cover.

OEM tonneau cover uses those. you can plug them with some bolts if it bugs you, that's what i did myself. M6 I believe

The previous posters are WRONG. That is the secondary pintle gun mount location for the phased-plasma rifle in the 40-watt range.

    My version is better!!!

You're right...you cannot mount the plasma rifle on the back bed rail. Its missing on the 2017's.

For the factor cover. No need for screws in that location. The composite bed is bolted to the frame of the truck, these screw holes would do absolutely nothing for installation.
